Hello to all you losers and soon to be losers

Well here I am at 15 months post op, and loving life, being a part of

life and thinking about my life in the future.

For all pre ops, this is an amazing venture you are undertaking, it

is life altering, it does not come without some trepidation, but you

are courageous and you deserve to feel life to its fullest. I wish

all of you the very best of luck.

For all post ops, you guys keep me inspired, keep me laughing at

times, provide me with valualbe information and I truly treasure each

and every one of you. I always take more from this group than I

give, just stingy I guess..LOL....

I too, along with Ann, was in the hospital with the negative email

person in November, and at the time I sort of felt sorry for her,

only because I think she didnt fully accept the idea that this is

major surgery, that there can be extreme pain involved for some and

that you are also responsible for your aftercare and your attitude

plays such an important role in your recovery. It appeared to me

that she was receiving very attentive care and the staff along with

Dr. K were very concerned with her care.

As far as the drug issue, I unfortunately have alot of life

experience in this area. (Please dont anyone send me awful emails, I

say this because I feel secure in saying this here). I am a drug

addict in constant recovery (have been for ten years), my drug of

choice was pretty much any controlled substance, almost all of them

doctor prescribed. I knew which doctors to complain to, what

symptoms to have and to not use the same physician too many times.

As addicts we always have our drug of choice, I am not saying she has

a drug problem, just stating a fact. Did I discuss my drug concerns

with Dr K? You bet I did, was he concerned? You better believe he

was. Was I in excruciating pain after the surgery? No, but was I in

some pain...sheesh of course I was this is major surgery. Did Dr K

and the nurses control my pain, Yes but with his drug of choice for

my situation and his expertise in pain management. Did I need pain

killers after being released, unfortunately YES for almost two months

due to some complications, do I need it now..NO...have a full bottle

of vicodan sitting on my dresser. Could I have done this ten years

ago, OF COURSE NOT....I had to get my head, my thoughts, my life

together first, I got rid of any abusive husband, went into rehab,

met a wonderful man who makes me smile everyday and finally met Dr.

K, who took me the rest of the way to a fulfilled life and a free

feeling spirit....I know I am rambling.....I only hope for her sake

that soon she will benefit from the wonderful possibilities that come

from this surgery and the caring healer that brought it to her.
