During his years growing up his x-rayed results had returned normal. This time around abnormal. No tumbling here but does pretty good with other physical activities to keep him going. Guest guest
Thanks! Tori has been complaining of mid-lower back pain. We saw the Ortho last month thinking it was her hips, but he said the way she is walking (right leg is turned out/starting to drag toes slightly) wasn't from the hips...(she has some minor arthritis but nothing to cause her to walk funky). Anyway, he stated it was necessary to check for AAI because it can cause kids to walk funny. Now in the last week, she has started to lean to one side while sitting centered in a chair at the dinner table. I take my finger and help her straighten out (getting no resistance). I am really scared that there is something really serious going on here. Sorry to be so wordy, just a little nervous! Guest guest
Liz, No apologies, I understand when their are unexplained problems going on. I would of done the same, made sure to rule out in regards to the hip areas. I could also see the next step with AAI. Well the doc at least x-ray her low-back area too? How old is Tori? I know she is still one of our young ones here. Irma -- In , " Liz D " wrote: > > Thanks! Tori has been complaining of mid-lower back pain. Guest guest
What I didn't know about AAI is that even with x-rays in childhood, it can sometimes appear in aadults! Elie was last checked when he was 8 or 10. Now I am thinking that he should be re-checked! Not that he wold do anything even remotely physicial. HE gives couch potatoes a bad name!!!!! He can look like a walrus sitting in a chair. > > Liz, > No apologies, I understand when their are unexplained problems going on. > I would of done the same, made sure to rule out in regards to the hip > areas. Guest guest
Irma: I think he will and atleast we won't have to wait for the results. He will see her right after the films are done. She is going to be 8 in Feb. Liz Re: AAI Liz, No apologies, I understand when their are unexplained problems going on. I would of done the same, made sure to rule out in regards to the hip areas. Something else spinning in my head too, but then I was dismissing it since she is still pretty young, is some type of hormone imbalance due to some of the arthritis mentioned, has anything like hormone measures been done? Does Tori have Thyroid problems? When are you planning on the AAI exam? I will pray that it is nothing serious and hopefully it is something like rebuilding something in her system on what she lacks for something needed to balance. You do have to be like a detective. Guest guest
Hi, Irma: Well, Tori takes Omega 3-6-9 to make up for all the good stuff lacking in her diet. She does have Hashimoto's and sees her endo on Monday. We actually think she may be starting puberty because she has sprouted a heavy duty amount of body hair in the last 6 weeks (arms, legs) Downstair is still very light but it is there now. My oldest got her period at 9 and I am so not ready for this. Liz Re: AAI > > Irma: I think he will and atleast we won't have to wait for the results. I was sort of leaning towards this route wondering if there was some type of connection here as I am going through alot of bloodwork and other test down the road for me. Yes, I am actually doing something for myself. Since I have been doing some homework these days, this did occur on the thyroid issues on what I have read so far. I did have a chance to review on Hashimoto's Thyroiditis this morning. Interesting information my way. I could see on some of Tori's issues going on. Speak about the timing now with puberty kicking in. http://www.onlineallergycenter.com/ The site I am mentioning here on what I have been reading up on, as this doc has a facility here now in SA has helped numerous women. Before going to bed he had an infomercial which was shown at wee hours, then the following morning which is rare as I try not to watch TV instead replace it with the Treadmill. Oh yeah, now I know why because of all the heavy rain we had these past days, needed to review the road closure. Anyways one of the local TV station segment had him on, so I saw this as a sign to take action. This is why I was ruling it out as she is still pretty young but now on what you had mentioned with the Hashimoto. I could see something triggering. So is Tori under meds for this now? Lets see how Tori's appt. turns out on Monday? Then in Tori's case makes you wonder how much the Trisomy 21 issues interferes? Then whatever medical issues she has been through since she was young. Too much to learn & research. Irma
