Becky,

About inositol, if it's going to help with your son's OCD, you

probaby won't see any benefits until he's built up to a good dosage

and has been on that dosage a few weeks.

When we began it, I decided that once we built up to a good dosage

then we'd wait at least 12 weeks to see if any benefits.

If I can recall correctly since 's off inositol now, he

started out at around 3 grams the 2nd week or so of taking it. I

know I did less than a teaspoon also that first week to see if he'd

have any side effects/upset stomach and then went to the teaspoon.

No side effects then either. His powder measured around 3grams per

teaspoon. We built up to a usual 3x a day, but 4 or 5x a day during

those worst phases/months. Eventually after quite a long time, we

were down to 1 or 2x a day maintenance. Towards the end, 1x a day.

He took it from 6th grade thru 8th grade; 8th grade would have been

the 1x a day. (don't count on my memory to be exact here, he's now

in 10th grade!)

says he was around 100 lbs in 8th grade; can't recall weight

other years though it had to be less! :) He's always been a tall,

extremely skinny/lanky kid. He's 120 pounds now in 10th grade; not

sure his height but over 5'8 " . (all per who I just asked)
