DeSantis 1063 Mosser Road S103 Breinigsville, PA 18031 Harpo Studios 1058 W Washington Chicago, IL 60607 Re: Suggestion for show People with Down syndrome and Autism-The Dual Diagnosis To Whom It May Concern: I am writing to ask if Oprah would please consider doing a show geared towards families who have members who have Down syndrome and have been diagnosed with Autism. I am the mother of a 7 yr. old girl who was diagnosed with Autism just before she turned 4 yrs. old. Statistics have proven that people with Down syndrome are 10% more likely to be Autistic than the typical person. We get the looks from others because of the behaviors our kids possess and then it is said " Oh, he/she has Down syndrome. " Yes, our kids do have Down syndrome, but Down syndrome does not cause these behaviors. Autism does! Please help us reach out to the public and promote the Dual Diagnosis we live with daily.
