Guest guest
Supporting Sucking Skills is my top recommendation too. Revised editions of these books are available: Breastfeeding and Human Lactation - Riordan The Politics of Breastfeeding these might be good choices as well: CWG's new tools book Balancing Breast and Bottle Spanish for Breastfeeding Support Motherfood These books are due out this year: Breastfeeding Answers Made Simple - Mohrbacher HALE MMM 2010 Book on Breastfeeding and Feminism - see conference at UNC It's a few years old, but I really love Marsha 's book; Using the Evidence (or something like that) Another reference book I use fairly often is The Essential Guide to Herbal Safety. Sorry I don't have the titles correct for some of these, I am typing from my phone and can't look them up. Which is also why the titles aren't underlined... As far as Hale & Hartmann's textbook, it is a fabulous and fascinating book, but not my top choice as a basic lactation text. It speaks well to physicians and researchers and includes data and perspective that helps with the LC's work, but doesn't cover the more basic lactation consulting skills. I do highly recommend it to any of my fellow book junkies, but if an IBCLC candidate was asking what book to study from, I wouldn't suggest this one.
