Guest guest
Hi Cyndi, Good to hear that 's surgery went well. Is he eating and drinking ok? When Zeb had his out, it took me weeks to get liquids into him. It was a sip here and a sip there. I tried to bribe him with slushys and whatever I knew he loved. He ate nothing and drank little. The recovery was worst than the surgery. It also took him almost a year to sleep through the night. Now that we are in the teens he hardly sleeps but he will stay in his room. We also have a new puppy. The dog is doing well with training but occassionally poops in the house. Between Zeb's poor aim and the dog I live with a bleach bucket. I am sick of it myself. We went through a stage that everything went into the toilet. Thankfully, my dh's cousin is a plumber that lives close by and is free. It had been years since we had these issues. I was having trouble with one of the toilets and couldn't figure out what the problem was until Zeb finally told me he flushed a spoon. I thought this was behind us. We tried to snake it out but no luck. The plumber cousin needs to remove the entire toilet from the floor again. Just another day. Since is non-verbal I guess he will draw a picture of a hang man if he is feeling suicidal. is doing okay since his surgery.Well you have we get tired of cleaning up poop.Today after we got home from the hospital the dog had pooped on the floor and sat right in it.I ammmmmmmmmmmm sick, sick, sick, of poop.Have a geat night everyone. I had to laugh at the hangman reference because they gave us the same sort of warnings when tried a couple of SSRIs. I was like... " How the *%$# are we supposed to know if she's suicidal...like maybe she'll start banging her head on the wall (which she already does) " We joked that she would start signing that index finger across the throat thing. Sick I know. She was on Trazadone for a short period and it did help her sleep but she started to come to me with her tongue sticking out and handing me a towel. She wanted me to wipe off her tongue. I thought it was pretty strange till I read some of the side effects and one was " may leave a metallic taste in your mouth " . Then she started scraping her tongue along everything and wrapping her hand around her tongue and pulling like crazy. I suppose we could have waited it out but we ended up discontinuing it...and the weird tongue stuff stopped right away. Again- another weird reaction to make all our kids different. At least now we only keep it out for a week or so per month to deal with the period problem (more like a peroxide bucket actually). But it can get really gross. Guest guest
Charlyne,Yes, thank goodnes he started eating and drinking the day after his surgery. They kept overnight the day of his surgery and filled him with IV fluids.Wed he ate mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, macaroni and cheese, and sweet tea.Wed night he did not sleep all night but we was quite as a mouse.Oh gosh your poor dear Zeb did not sleep through the night for a year? Oh I hope this does not continue for .New puppy, let me say it for Dr. Phil, " What were you thinkin " ?Ha Ha .My dog that I had for 16 yr past away last month but we still have my daughter's dog.I am not replacing any pets.No No.Oh and of course I have a cat that I got after my mother past away 5 yrs ago for my dad.But of course he did not want it even though he loves cats. When there gone, there gone.No more. is not flushing things but who knows at any time that could start.Your lucky that you have a plumber I would be out of luck.Did you once say that Zeb used to STop,drop, and flop but he stopped doing this? At what age? Cyndi Burns > > Hi Cyndi, > Good to hear that 's surgery went well. Is he eating and drinking ok? When Zeb had his out, it took me weeks to get liquids into him. Guest guest
Sherry,Relief that surgery went well, and thanks.I have heard horro stories about tonsil's/adnoids.The index finger across the throat is funny. Not sick we have to have some kind of " sick humor " in our stressful situations.Otherwise we might go nuts. has never taken trazodone someone in our group wanted to know what it was. takes Risperidone, and Trileptal for agressions.Let the professionals figure out if our kinds are suicidal since they were so good and the dual dx thing.Ya right.Well Sherry I am glad she was able to demonstrate that the medicine did indead bother her tongue. Our kids may be non-verbal but at least we sometimes get some kind of sign on what there needs are.Sherry thanks for making me laugh.Does she take any meds now? Guest guest
Sherry, I cannot imagine what that would be like. You really have your hands full.Have you ever considered pills that would keep her from her period? Guest guest
<<Does she take any meds now? Cyndi B>> Hi Cyndi...sorry I thought your little one was taking Trazadone. just takes clonidine for sleep now. But we're looking into new meds for her GI problems. The problem is she barely tolerates anything we give her....always a reaction. BTW we also thought maybe a " sign " for pointing a gun to her head might be the " suicidal sign " . LOL. <<Have you ever considered pills that would keep her from her period? Cyndi>> Oh boy we've tried almost everything over the years. She got worse on BC pills, and we're afraid to give her something more longlasting as it would then be even more of a problem to discontinue. She's just started again with the aggression and PMS...hope it doesn't last too long. It's worse than the blood mess. (actually WE are the ones with the blood mess with all her scratching and hitting). Oh well, I know you all have your own special set of problems with boys (he he) Sherry
Guest guest
Sherry, Sorry it took me so long to respond.I was not on the group over the weekend. It seems like the Drs.'s should be able to come up with something to help you. Cyndi B > > <<Does she take any meds now?
