Guest guest
My son is becoming very depressed. He can't handle school, does a little at home but can't handle much here either. We almost have him off of all his meds. The side effects were pretty bad and he still couldn't fuction very well so we figured " what's the point " . His compulsions have got really bad but the side effects are gone which is a bit of a relief. He only has a few friends and they're not that close. He can't see a very bright future for himself(he's 16). Doesn't think he'll ever be able to work. I don't think he will either. He's bored, lonely, and very tired of trying to fight this disorder(been fighting for 7 yrs now). He broke down in tears last night and said that he is so tired of people asking him why why why, he wants someone to tell him why. It's hard for him to watch his younger sister(14 yrs). She does really well at school, has a social life that never stops, lot's of friends, now she has a job too. And to make it even harder, some boys that use to be friends with my son are very interested in my daughter. It seems to him that his sister got the perfect life and he got all the crap. He's lost hope. I just feel really sad for him. Sorry, I hate to be a downer, but other people just don't understand. It seems that I only ever post on here to vent. I wish I could come on here to give other people hope and encouragment. But I think my hope is dwindling fast. I do read others posts often so I know lot's of people do get better. We've had to give CBT a break for now because my son just can't handle it. We're still doing the horse therapy though. He does seem to get through his anxiety for that and even have a little fun. He's accually been working with a anxious horse and my son really likes that horse. And the horse seems to like my son despite being afraid of men. Well, maybe one day there will be a cure.
