Guest guest
My son who is 16 takes 2.5mg 4times a day. He also taking Lexapro(his doctor just up him to 40mg from 30mg). He has to take the abilify every 4 to 5 hours. I can tell you that the Abilify has really help him. Before, when only took the ability twice a day and when he need it...he would suddenly get anxious and he couldn't handle the situation, after he took the abilify, about 30 minutes later, you would even know that he had a attack. That is why he now taking it every 4 to 5 hours. > > Has anyone had any luck with the drug Abilify? > > Both of my boys are going to begin taking this to try and augment zoloft. > Currently they both take zoloft but my older son also takes Risperadol which > has caused weight gain. Guest guest
Does anybody have any experience with Abilify with SSRI? I took my 11 year old daughter to a well respected psychiatrist this week. She put her on a very low dose of Abilify (1.25) along with Luvox which she will probably change the SSRI. It was prescribed by a pediatrician earlier. Side note but need support - I came out of the two and half hour evaluation understanding the pain my daughter is going through much better. I felt like giving her a huge hug, telling her how sorry I am she has OCD but I really wanted to cry. I can no longer pretend she's a little girl who might outgrow this. Maybe she is just going through a rough patch. I realized she is plagued with a lifelong condition and could even be put into a category of mentally ill. I am grieving.
