what are mycoplasmas?? definition required for scientifically challenged

anyone explain in laymen's terms what a mycoplasma is? and what they have to do

with our children in terms of viral issues?

trying to wade through research and wanted to know if this is a " made up " thing

or if they really exist.

My daughter got mycoplasma infection with resultant pneumonia- it is not a joke  This type of pneumonia is also called walking pneumonia as it is an atypical form of pneumonia ... It is a single cell organism, sort of like a  bacteria which has no cell wall - meaning it does not respond to normal everyday anti biotics.

 

It is becoming more and more prevalent and is something which is often missed.

 

My daughter caught it when her immune system was understress. She has fully recovered now.
