Hi ~ I can relate. I feel overwhelmed too about the diet, and guilty a

bit for thinking there might be something that can help Dylan and I'm not doing

it. There's a limit too though to what we can do and still keep our heads on

somewhat straight :)

's eating habits sounds a lot like my son, Dylan who is 12. Dyl eats

cream of wheat for breakfast, every single morning for probably 10 years. Has

to be watery though - because otherwise he chokes on it. Staples of his diet

are milk, yogurt, pudding, ice cream, frozen pizzas made in the microwave so

they are mushy for him to eat. Dyl doesn't eat anything crunchy either. Meal

times can be frustrating - I wish he had more variety but have learned that it's

not worth getting too worked up over - it's not going to change.

I struggle with working full-time and trying to manage everything too. And, I

don't enjoy cooking, which doesn't help much either.

Good luck!

I've looked at some of those websites and it depresses me, because it

seems like every where you look there is a food that he might be allergic to.

For example, when you want to replace gluten with soy, now soy is bad, so you

look at corn products, nope corn is bad too. Milk is bad too. What can we eat or

drink that isn't bad???

I would love to think that my son's issues could be solved with a diet change,

but what to change? I took him off of milk & milk products for about a month

once, with no change. He also loves pudding & ice cream. To remove the gluten

would be a nightmare, because most of what he eats is pasta. There is also

gluten in oatmeal??? He eats either oatmeal, Cream of Wheat, or scrambled eggs

every day for breakfast, so what could I possibly feed him? He doesn't eat

anything crunchy. Do you just have to try one thing at a time?

I don't see how it is possible to remove everything that might be bad for him.

Also, how to deal with school lunches? If I start making his food with rice

flour or something, then I can no longer send those lunch bucket meals that he

loves for his lunch, I have to send something homemade. And no more of the

school's lunches. I would seriously have to quit my job. And yes, I do work,

right now more than full-time, but usually about 20 hours per week. I've looked

at some of those recipes on those websites, but don't see much for actual meals.

Appetizers are not what I'm looking for.
