We have been working on the sever pronation for many years with Elie. Now,

at age 21, we went for a new evaluation (we have done that every 2 years ).

This year the PT who evaluated him suggested that because, due to the

proantion, he has shortened the tendons and was causing him pain or at the

very least discomfort. We had several different 'grams made - finally an

MRI of his lower legs. So after all that, he ius now fitted for plastic

articulated leg braces. HE wears them without complaint during school hours

and days. The fact that he never has objected to them tells me that they

make him more comfortable. HE is also walking (willingly) on a track with

his college age, lovely mentor. HE is walking upt to a mile at a time now!

We finally gave up on strollers and gave his Baby Jogger to another familly.

HE has a wheel chair that I bought at a flea market. Simple manual w/c

are easy to find either thru the newspaper, at resale shops, flea markets,

etc. My dh put large wheels (from a lawnmower ) on the front to make

wheeling on gravel and mulch easier. We only use it these days when we go

to festivals and there are large crowds.

Sara - Choose to make lemonade, not complain about the lemons.
