Well, the night sweats are (or at least may be) a symptom of the asthma. I have them when I'm not in control. I have soaked the bed so badly that I had to the sheets in order to go back to sleep. I haven't had that bad a night in over a year.

Yes, I get night terrors and awaken myself screaming so loud. I also get night sweats and between the two I don't sleep for very long periods. I awake struggling to breath with my heart pounding. My doctor put me on lorazepam for night time--low dose but it helps so much. I can't remember the last time I got four consecutive hours of sleep. I blame my sleep problems on the predisone, as does the doctor. For all the problems caused by predisone, it keeps my air ways open and after all, that is the goal so I try and roll with the many punches.

I also take a cup of sleepy time tea prior to bed time. I doesn't do much for me but it's warm and tastes good. Take care and be well.

nightmares anyone?

I am beginning to wonder what my nightmares are, does anyone else get them when they are SOB? They are very disturbing and I don't like to sleep like this. I wake several times a night just to get out of them. I feel they are swollowing me up.

Have I lost it or is this another side effect to low doses of predisone? I've taken this stuff on and off for decades, but just in the last few years do I have this problem. I am not a good sleeper as it is, and due to that, I think my asthma is often effected. Asthma is bad right now, think nightmares run with asthma?
