With all this discussion about breast pumps, I have seen the new Affinity pump

show up in our local stores. I called the company and looked at their new

webpage:

The Lansinoh Affinity Double Electric Breast Pump cycles 30-60 times per minute.

There are 6 speed settings.

The Lansinoh Double Electric Breast Pump ranges from 50-250 mm HG in 1 second.

There are 8 suction settings.

Has a let down phase that adjusts to expresion phase at 2 minutes. Then you may

adjust the suction/speed - it comes up to a preset suction/speed (3/5), where

mom can then increase/decrease to comfort.

IMHO, it has the appearance of Symphony cups on the top of the breastshield

piece. Tubing like Ameda Purely yours, with the white piece to close if only

using as a single pump. The tubing comes off the side of the breastsheild like

that of Playtex Embrace.

Currently has only one size flange/breastsheild, with a soft edge. If a mother

purchase this item and it is too tight, she can contact them for assistance, and

they send her " pumping pals " to insert into the breastsheild. (as per rep who

answered the phone - they are " working " on this issue).

I asked for a professional sample, but she hasn't gotten back to me yet ;)

Was told that " First Generation pump " made by Ameda is not going to be sold once

current stock is depleated (#9000 nation wide). This one is made by Lansinoh

themselves. They will not be limited to where they sell them (which they were

under the Ameda contract). Price is currently <$150

Have any of you had any experience with this pump?

I only have one mother who purchased this pump when she dropped her previous

Purely Yours and broke something inside. She had no success with the pump, and

ended up hand expressing that day.
