Guest guest
I experienced something called sleep myoclonus which is similar to restless leg syndrome. I do not believe this was caused directly by the SSRIs I was on. I do believe it was due to the anti-convulsant drug Depakote. However, we must all be constantly reminded that everybody reacts to these medications differently. I wouldn't rule out that SSRIs were the cause for your restless leg syndrome. I would suggest going to a doctor, but they are probably going to look at you like you are an idiot if you tell them that an SSRI did this to you. Your best bet if you do decide to seek medical help is to go do a sleep study at the hospital. You can't get hurt in the sleep study and they can help analyze the cause of the restless leg syndrome by monitoring your brain activity. However, the "cure" is going to be more drugs, most likely a benzodiazopine like Klonopin. I've been on Klonopin for over 2 years due to my sleep myoclonus, but I'm trying to get off because Klonopin causes serious damage if used long-term.pris_cis wrote: Hi again! It has been some time from my last post. But i have one more symptom!!As you know, one of my main symptom was to become exhausted after a sexual act.Now i think i am developing RestLess Syndrome...I have a weird sensation in my legs (a little in my arms too), and a surge to move them. Could it be that the SSRI i took for 2 years has screwed my dopamine system? Or maybe i was genetically weak in Dopamine...and the SSRI has make me even weaker.Anyone is experiencing Restless leg syndrome too? __________________________________________________
Guest guest
I have sleep myoclonus as well. I jerk a lot at night--and the RLS too, i swim my legs around when i am in bed before sleep, i cant seem to NOT move them. I have read it is the low dopamine that causes it--like you said MORE MEDS, so that is a no go with me. lisa --- wrote: > I experienced something called sleep myoclonus which > is similar to restless leg syndrome.
