Guest guest
Judy's post about use of RLC got me thinking about asking this; how many of you have insurance companies actually recognize the IBCLC behind your signature? When I occasionally receive a letter from the insurance company about their rejection of reimbursement for my services I am always addressed as an RN, never an IBCLC. On my bill, the letters are explained in my header, I sign, BSN, RN, IBCLC and in 12 yrs of practice not one insurance company has recognized IBCLC. I do not use RLC in my signature because I feel if they can't recognize IBCLC how will RLC make a difference? (Also, my bills did not include RLC and currently can't afford to change them). Barbara Latterner, BSN, RN, IBCLC From Wall Street to Main Street and everywhere in between, stay up-to-date with the latest news.
