Menstrual Questions Again!

Hi All!!

My just turned 11 year old (March 12th) just got her first period

on the 14th!! Poor girl, what a lousy " present " . She is taking it

well, she is classified as low functioning, semi-verbal. I kept her

out of school for the past two days, I have to teach her quickly the

routine!

I bought her pads and some " bladder control " cotton panties, but

does anyone recommend any specific brand that I can try, or ones they

have success with. Sounds stupid, but my mother, aunt and I always

called a period " grandma " , as a code word. I'm trying to break

myself of that habit. I don't call it a " friend " anymore, I don't

consider it a " friend " either!! Any brands or suggestions would be

appreciated. I have to send her on Monday. All the special ed

teachers know, and the nurse and teacher are going to help her in the

nurse's bathroom so that's not a problem. You can email me
