ESY justification for middle school

Hi all.

I am looking for any insight parents with older kids can give me on justification for ESY.

’s teacher was not even going to hold a meeting to determine if she would be approved for ESY. She implied that is just doing so well she couldn’t justify it. That’s

how I read the conversation anyway. So I requested a meeting citing the areas of Math and Language that “regresses” in. (money counting, adding numbers, hand writing…)

We have to reschedule the April 5th meeting due to a death in the teacher’s family. I emailed her and kindly suggested that they could just approve and forget a meeting. Can't say I didn't try! I wanted to " feel them out "

anyway. So, since she responded that she will reschedule that kind of tells me that they are not going to want to approve ESY for .

With that said we need our ducks in a row. So I guess my questions are these:

Is it enough to say that it has been shown year after year that does show regression? She has been approved for ESY every year.

Is it enough to show that her current IEP 3rd quarter report shows inconsistent responses for the Math and Language areas we want to address in ESY?

I'm not sure " what is enough " ? Can you offer suggestions on what else I might say that will be justification? I am feeling like I should have more examples or something. I don't have any documentation from last Sept. stating that yes,

they did notice regression or not.....

She is in a Life Skills Class and they do offer one during the summer, but I want a class that will demand more from my daughter.

Thanks!
