Guest guest
I just created a new poll for the Pozhealth group relating to anal human papiloma virus (HPV) infection , which is the cause of anal warts, anal dysplasia and anal cancer. The purpose of the poll is to find out how many of us in this group have been diagnosed with or treated for any form of anal HPV disease -- from anal warts to anal cancer. Please vote in the poll (whether or not you have ever been diagnosed with or treated for anal HPV infection) so that we can know how many of us are infected, the severity of infection, and how many of us are being diagnosed and treated for HPV disease. In going through the Pozhealth group's messages over the past 6 months, I found six members of our group who have acknowledged having been diagnosed with anal cancer. With the Pozhealth group now totaling a little more than 2,000 members, that means one in 370 of us has disclosed having anal cancer. Perhaps the number is higher. That's a pretty high incidence for one type of cancer in a particular community. That relatively high incidence rate for anal cancer should be a wake up call to members of this group who have not been tested for anal HPV disease, the cause of anal cancer, since it is easily diagnosed and treated. Please vote in the poll and get an anal pap smear!
