Guest guest
Welcome to the group! I hope you'll avail yourself of our extensive files and links pages. Many of us communicate off-list to each other, so no doubt you'll find a buddy. OTOH, just posting to the group and staying connected should keep you on the straight and narrow. Since you're young and have the rest of your life to do this, start slow and easy. See our " CR Made Easy " file to begin. Good Luck! on 1/3/2006 8:54 PM, lodiangirl at lodiangirl@... wrote: Hello! I am new to this CR stuff. I've been researching it for a little while and decided to start with it. I am young and overweight (5'6 " and 207 lbs), and I'm hoping CR will help me not only lose some extra pounds, but become healthier than I've ever been. I'm hoping to get support from YOU GUYS, as I don't have it at home with a husband that likes to eat junk food all the time. I'm grateful this group exists and would even like a buddy to keep in communication with... so he/she could keep tabs on me, and I could keep tabs on him/her. If anyone is wishing for the same, please let me know. Thank you!
Guest guest
I am a relative newbie, too. I would love to have a "buddy" to compare notes with. Go ahead and email me privately and we can start to hold each other accountable. Becky rgosky@... [ ] Newbie! Hello! I am new to this CR stuff. Guest guest
I agree. I'm also new and having a hard time figuring out how to connect with people who are just starting out but also who to talk to re: certain issues relevant to say 50ish females . It would be great if the Members Profile on the web page was available so we could find out about who is in this group and who we might best go to for support or even better, who we can meet and talk with locally. This is a big transition for some of us. Guest guest
Start with Watford's books. They're not expensive. And Walford's book too. Regards RE: [ ] Newbie! Guest guest
All newbies should read the files which are written in clear, simple language and should be understandable to everyone. That will give you a good foundation. Ignore the posts which are over your head and take what you can from the ones you understand. The posts range widely from the simplest language to the esoteric. Many of us after sticking around for awhile learn to understand the more complex posts. We can't be all things to all people - that's why there are other groups for specific issues such as those relevant to 50ish females. on 1/4/2006 1:54 PM, Keaton at holhealthmgt@... wrote: I agree. Guest guest
These ARE very intelligent individuals on here! On am honored to be a part of this group, actually. A lot of times, they summarize the study or state their opinions in the first part of the email. Pay special attention to that part and then the study's conclusion and skip the rest if you want. That will then give you the gist and is the most understandable, I think. In time, you will be a whizz-bang, too! -Becky RE: [ ] Newbie!
