Guest guest
Hi Darren, I've seen that info on the internet as well. But there are actually several solid publications in PubMed saying that ginkgo *doesn't* increase bleeding time. On the other hand, there pulications showing that our good old friends the SSRIs *do* increase bleeding time. Were you taking SSRIs (or NSAIDs) when you had this incident? In any case I'm glad you recovered OK... Guest guest
Hi Vornan,I was taking zoloft at the time 3 years ago when it happened. I was also taking aspirin everyday for my aches and pains, and ginkgo to reverse the the sexual side effects from zoloft. ,stupid me i didnt realize that aspirin attacks the stomach and eats holes in it and thins the blood at the same time.I passed out and fell and hit my head on thr floor and was taken to the hospital by ambulance. This combination of aspirin and ginkgo and prexisting stomach ulcers caused a massive g.i. bleed. The G.I Dr. told me i lost about half of my blood supply.I spent two days in the intensive care unit and wasnt allowed to stand up because i would pass out.Long story short i wish had read the label on the bottle of aspirin and put two and two together with the stomach pain. Guest guest
I'm just curious about the effects that Ginkgo has had on people with PSSD. I read a paper on a study about how it can be really effective in reversing SSRI induced sexual dysfunction. Has it honestly helped anyone's PSSD? I mean, I heard the same thing about Wellbutrin, and I took a high dose of that for a few months with no success. Also, I'm interested about any risks associated with Ginkgo use. I'm particularly worried about increases in the chance of brain aneurysm and cerebral hemmrage because I've been getting a lot of migraines lately that might be due to some swelling of arteries. I barely feel like I'm living a life right now, but I still don't want to risk dying on a suppliment that probably won't end up helping anyway lol. I'm going to ask my doctor about it before I begin using any (my GP, he's not the one prescribed me Paxil and he at least has the decency to listen to me and consider the chance my problems are the result of my AD use , even if I doubt he actually believes it) but I'm curious about what you all think. Honestly, I trust the people on this board now far more than any doctor with regards to my sexual dysfunction. I can barely stand this anymore, I have no idea how I'm going to handle the years to come.
Guest guest
a What is the maximum safe daily dose of ginkgo biloba in milligrams? b For which concentration does that apply? c What is the maximum period you can take that maximum dose safely? d How risky is it to experiment with higher doses than officially recommended? And which kind of side effects should be especially monitored with such an experiment? e I'm looking for websites with information on these questions. f I seek (scientific) reports on the side effects of ginkgo biloba in the short and/or long term. Guest guest
Gingko boosted my orgasm quality from absolutely nothing, to pretty satisfying. Though it did nothing for erections, also something to note, it was like maybe 40 minutes after I took it so it was probably at it's prime in my system, I imagine if you were to take one in the morning and then only happen to do it later in the day it wouldn't be as good, or you can try and time it which kinda sucks
