Guest guest
On Friday was 's triennial IEP. . .all the testing and re-qualifying etc. that has to happen every 3 years. It was 3 years ago that the big fight happened (for those of you who were on the list then) and I had to hire a lawyer. Anyway, all went very well!! She will keep exactly the services and time she has now and keep her 1-on-1 aid. The only change is that while she will still get pull-out speech (for articulation), her "language" part will be done in her small reading group. (There are 4 girls in her Gen Ed. 4th grade class who all read at the same level - somewhat behind, so they have a reading group with the resource room teacher) and the speech therapist will be there 1x/week to work on specific language skills. Also, her handwriting and spelling are good, but her general written expression is not so great (thinking of ideas, deciding how to form her sentences) so she will begin to use KidSpiration and Co-Writer for her written work.I'm really happy with how it all went. This will carry into Jan of her 5th grade year at which time we will start the middle school transition planning. . .I don't know WHAT I want to do then, but for now. .this is good!Talk to you all soon!Caseymom to (DS) and ,
