Guest guest
I am generally a skeptic and am not a big believer in Nutrivene (and absolutely no criticism of those who are!), yet I HAVE found Omega 3 to increase attention and focus. Our family is vegetarian, so we have to find it in ways that don't include fish oil, but I do think Omega-3 helps. In kindergarten, I did a blind trial with both 's teachers (special ed. and gen ed). I told them we were trying "something new" at home and I wanted their input as to it's positive or negative impact. I didn't tell them it was a dietary change, or a discipline change or sleep shift. . .I just said "something new" and that I would value their input, about positive change, no change or negative change in the weeks to come. I spoke to each teacher independently several times over the next few months and both felt like she was sitting still better at circle time, paying more attention to the task at hand and had less off-task silliness (my phrase, not theirs). We continued it for all of K and most of 1st grade. It was a liquid that I mixed 20 drops of into her applesauce or yogurt in the morning. We stopped finally because I just couldn't stand the smell!! Although it was marine algae, it smelled like fish, and eventually our dishrags smelled like fish (from wiping up drips etc.) adn I just was really bothered by it. Now she is older and can take pills, so we may return to the marine algae, but I just started a flax seed oil that I put in her morning smoothie. If we weren't vegetarian, I'd take the quick and easy fish oil supplements for all of us! I've heard that the Nordic Natural brand is excellent in both quality and lack of "fishy" aftertaste. Just my experience, and I'm sure others will have thoughts to contribute. Casey nutrivene I read earlier that someone had mentioned Nutrivene. My son has been on this since last October and the change with him is amazing. His therapists noticed as well. Since I am pregnant with another DS child I take the prenatals they offer for her. When I was pregant with I took prenatals, a combo that trader joes offers of iron, b6 and b12, and what I think made the most difference is the Expecta I took. I am taking all these with the specialy formulated one for DS from Nutrivene. I am not taking the full dosage on the Nutrivene one though as there daily dosage is 12 capsules and they are not cheap. I am hoping she will be as healthy as my son. I am currently giving him the daily powdered supplement with the daily enzymes and at night the nightime formula. Who all out there besides the one person I read of is on the Nutrivene regimen with there kids? I need to reorder so if there is additional supplement they have that you might think I need to add let me know.
