Guest guest
Hello! I am new to this group, having been introduced to it by a mentor and friend, Burgett, in Washington. I began pursuing IBCLC about 11 years ago after the birth of my first child: was most gracious in allowing me to begin my lactation career under her tutelage after helping me with some lactation difficulties. I went on to take the LE course at Evergreen Medical center in Kirkland, WA, and completed my university education in Health Service Administration (at the time I began pursuing IBCLC, the contact hours were largely education-driven and having no patience to await the entrance into nursing school, nor possessing the desire to practice as a nurse, a health-specific business degree seemed most suited to helping with a private practice). I become a LLL Leader in 2007, and am taking the IBCLC exam (finally!) this year. I also have my own business as a cloth diaper manufacturer (LolliDoo diapers) and am involved in a few advocacy groups related to birth reform, breastfeeding, and natural parenting. I have been advised that this is a great group for sharing all sorts of information related to private practice IBCLC and I am most grateful to be allowed to participate. So far I am enjoying the smaller-than-Lactnet environment for sharing. Thank you for allowing me to join! Sincerely, , LLLL and IBCLC hopeful
