Guest guest
We were told years ago that the reason Elie was not bowel trained was that the low tone didn't allow him to process when he needed to be in the bathroom. He NEVER was constipated, he just went. It took until he was 14 to be almost (down to 1-2 accidents a week) trained. At fifteen, he was down to 1 a month. Now, at 21, he had one accident the first week of new school - and he was horribly upset by it. But low tone was a believe the factor. HE couldn't tell the difference between flatus and real BM. He also didn;t feel the intestinal sensation - he waited for rectal pressure. Now he can even travel and give us notice that he will need the bathroom soon. Guest guest
I don't think Janie's problem is low tone. I seriously think she is just a little stinker! Her " normal " cycle is the old all or nothing, but this past week OMG she takes off her pull-up when noone is looking after she wets, then squats and poops healthily (is that a word?) on her bed, the kitchen floor, wherever! I guess she has got that she is not supposed to do it in her pants, but missed the part about sitting on the pot! As disgusting as it is, it secretly cracks me up. She is such a tease. When she is done she will show you like she is all proud of it. I am just grateful it not liquid! She doesn't smear any more. Went from that to taking off her soiled pants and wiping herself off with all the socks in her drawer, then to the current behavior. Progress is sure different with her. (Sigh!) I'm sorry but the visual image is so funny...and it brings back fond memories of the time dh was gone on one of his many trips and jamie went in and pooped on his pillow; they were these specially chiropractic contoured pillows with sort of a " bowl " like effect that cost a fortune. I was so happy to tell him about it over the phone and threatened to leave it there till he got back. Sherry
Guest guest
We had the exact opposite. Zeb was trained by 3 but wet the bed. I would have him go right before I put him to bed and in 10 min his bed was soaked. I stripped beds sometimes 3 times during the night. I used pullups with special liner etc. he wet through everything. I took him to a urologist and I was also told it was low tone. At age 13 we started to have some dry nights. Finally he gets up himself during the night and has not wet the bed in months. Guest guest
And Elie was dry from age 5. The only time he has wet himself was when he was dehydrated from pneumonia (go figure?)
