Guest guest
Irma! You are the MOM!!!! Re: Dad plays Mom for a day Hi Liz, Hope Tori is feeling better. How can I relate to the " Dad plays for a day " , once upon a time my dh use to have a cow in the past and that was just for one day too. I was even employed at the time too. I even had it easy where it did not even involve anything to do with preparing food, etc. I always have everyones clothes clean, yes organized where its easy to get to like example if had a restroom accident he would be able to know where to find change of clothes, cleaning supplies, or clean bed sheets, whatever needed. Queen of Tupperware and the Foodsaver so it was convenient to just reheat and follow my instructions. If anything was thrown off boy he was too tired and mind you I had everything ready where he would not have the extra work. When I had my set back undergoing my health issues doc had restricted me not to do too much, then my dh had to actually try to things from scratch somewhat as my family and close friends would help out so he did get a little break but this made him appreciate what I do for the family. I had to figure out how to work around when I'm away also for 's older brother when he is under their care or they will allow to be in bed all morning or have him watch TV all day. Last week the men in my life experience it the entire week & weekend while I had some training going on, this time I had them actually follow some visual schedules in the areas needed this helped tremendously. Plus I even told them to allow to do things independently as much as possible. I'm not that organized but when it comes to especially under a new protoccol/treatment he is undergoing I did not want anything messed up. Everyone survived and this made them not have any anxiety attack and actually made some type of connection with . This week I am having to get back on track as there were some areas that was able to manipulate them but this was understandable as I saw it as a typical young adult pulling one of his numbers or testing them when mama bear is away. I let it be, of course its not 100 % but some relief to know that I can count on them as they felt proud being brothers or the daddy interacting with and not thrown to the side. Learning about ABA, Visual supports, etc. worked for my family. My 3 y/o grandson has also benefit too when he is with us. I was actually able to come home and relax. I had to figure ways to work around this as it was becoming a broken record instead I had turn this around into something positive to help me not lose it since they are adapted to their everyday routine. Yep, you do what you have to, whatever works. Irma,18,DS/ASD

FOR NOW!!!!! " Then I just hang up. I usually get a call back very quickly with an offer to bring home take out! It doesn't always work but sometimes it does. DH and I just had a conversation last night about our " jobs " . had emptied all of his clothes and piled everything he could from his room in front of his door to block my older son from entering. Of course he than managed to squeeze out of the room leaving everything still in front of the door. My dh came home and went to go into the room. He was like, " What the heck??? " and I explained to him what happened. He burst out laughing and said, " " That kid cracks me up " To which I replied how he also cracks me up but in a much different way......I am literally cracking up. DH than told me how much credit he gives me and conceded that he could never spend a full day alone with the children without losing it. I told him he would get his chance this Sat because I was taking a " personal day " so he would just have to deal. I am going to meet with friends at 10 am to celebrate 2 of them adopting recently and I just don't know when I may get back. Guest guest
Are you sure your husband & mine aren't related???? My DH loves PC bowling, Madden Football, Online Scrabble. At times, it is like talking to a wall. Hello, Wall???? Liz Re: Dad plays Mom for a day In my husband's case, the whole process never quite gets completed when there's a poop incident (fortunately very rare for a while now) because he simply doesn't see the poopy clothes on the floor or walls or in Janie's hair! You've heard of selective hearing -- he has selective vision! And it still drains him to " babysit " even if he spends most of his time on the computer doing jigsaw puzzles... Just as our kids are individual, so are our husbands! I love having time off once in a while to find myself when I reach the breakdown stage... P. When dh is gone for long periods of time in the summer (in the bahamas fishing....terrible job) I let him know when he calls at tnight that when he gets home it's going to look like that scene from the Gladiator with Russel Crowe??? Anybody see that? He comes home from war and finds his wife and daughter hanging from their feet in the doorway burnt to a crisp. Dh actually has 7 bosses who all own a share of the boat (and of him). It's like being a glorified slave. Some are better than others but he has mullet blood in his veins as they say in the fishing world and there's nothing he'd rather do. he'll never make a million but at least he's happy and he doesn't even own a tie...he has one jacket for funerals and weddings. Otherwise it's khaki shorts all year long. Sherry
