Guest guest
Liz, It's okay to vent. We all need to sometimes, so please don't apologize for feeling frustrated. I hope things get better for you. Judi S. Liz > > > Oh Liz, > I'm so sorry about this. Why didn't the school bring this to your attention > when it started? Guest guest
Margaret: Thanks! So sorry to hear about Mr. G. I certainly hope they find out what the heck is going on. Give him hugs from us. Oh, here's one for you and DH ((((((HUGS))))) Lia Liz Hi, Everyone........Liz.......Just my two cents worth, but I would start laying off one of the meds, at a time, to see if her behavior goes back to her more 'normal' self. I would start with the Ritalin. Many of our kids can't take the stimulants. Maybe she is starting to distinguish the feelings/sensations from the meds and can't relay those feelings to anyone. Gareth is doing OK....he's waiting till Dec 12 for the doc to 'fix his food tube'. He's down to 145....a drop of 13# since this summer. Take care, Everyone. Guest guest
Hi, Everyone.....Liz...when I lived in Upstate NY they wouldn't close schools because of the snow....that was 'normal'......they would close or delay if the temp/windchill was below zero because of the kids standing at the bus stops to wait for busing. I think it's sooooooooooooo stupid to have a 2 hr delay because of a fine dusting of snow on the road!!! It's is all what you're use to, I guess. Take care, Everyone. I don't think it's so much that our kids are spoiled but more and more kids are being transported on busses and it's more of a safety issue. Trisha was picked up early the other day not because of how much snow there was but how much traffic on the interstate and their concerns were that whenever people see a little snow they seem to get crazy and we have more accidents and delays that they want our kids home before they get caught up in all the delays. But even that is only when someone who decides these things seems to be thinking clearly. Sometimes they are sent to school while it is snowing so hard you can't see only to turn around and come back home. So it all depends on who decides and what their day is like and how well their brain is working. :-) Carol Trishasmom She isn't typical, She's Trisha! My boys went to St. Joe's Prep and if there were flurries, we'd joke they'd have off!!! My younger kids went to a local parochial school, and they'd have to go, and Joe would have off. Now Alison is in a private elementary school, and it's the same thing. Duff and I always joke, the more you pay, the less they go. I think I only remember having school " CLOSED " for a massive snow storm many moons ago...that's because everything was shut down. I think the kids today are definitely too spoiled. I remember about 6 yrs ago, my step-daughter asked me to drive her to the bus stop because it was raining...and the bus stopped right in front of the house!!!! How's that for spoiled?? And of course, I told her she definitely lost her mind at the tender age of 14. Guest guest
There ya go! I know here the Parochial schools follow (for the most part) the school districts they are in as far as when they close.. Re: Liz In a message dated 2/7/2007 3:01:47 P.M. Guest guest
Margaret: Yes, I think you can say we all live by 's Law. You're strength is amazing. I told Mike last night how with all the pain you guys are dealing with, you still worry about everyone else. I think that is why we all feel like one big family. Please know, if you need to vent or chat or cry or whatever, call me! . Kris & Jimmy send their love to you all! Liz Liz Liz....I don't know. Don't know why not, though. Even though it happens most often in babies doesn't mean Tori can't get it. Says it's very contagious. _http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dvrd/revb/respiratory/rsvfeat.htm_ (http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dvrd/revb/respiratory/rsvfeat.htm) _http://www.kidshealth.org/parent/infections/bacterial_viral/rsv.html_ (http://www.kidshealth.org/parent/infections/bacterial_viral/rsv.html)
