Guest guest
Oh, I didn't intend to imply we are lacking research related to classical TT, impaired breastfeeding, and appropriate interventions. I train Lactation Educators and teach a 20 hour course in support of BFHI, I've got a ton of references re:ankyloglossia. I appreciate having this list as well though and will certainly review it, thank-you! I am implying we are lacking ANY RTC, or quality research studies on specifically 'Posterior Tongue Tie', that demonstrate an evidence based approach to interventions. For me I feel like my HCP colleagues will be most receptive to research as opposed to anecdotal experiences with PTT. And I am not implying that I don't believe it exists, or is influential. But we all seem to be experiencing the same frustration related to the lack of awareness of this issue and its influences by the HCP that would perform the frenotomy. I'm convinced the solution to increasing awareness is going to be continued inservices for HCP like so many of us have attended, and published research that supports the existence of PTT and how it impairs breastfeeding.
