Guest guest
Carla - This is the website for the ARC of Texas. They sometimes can offer money to help pay for respite care. If you want to email me offline, I might be able to give you more info based upon where you are located. <http://www.thearcoftexas.org/> http://www.thearcoftexas.org/ And the school refusing to recognize the PDD-NOS dx can be addressed. Let me know what area / district you are in. I have very successfully advocated for several families to get the AU eligibility and the services that go with that. Email or call me and I'll try to help. And currently, I get the daily digest so if anyone has questions - email me at either of the addresses below. Amy A. Sosa Executive Director amy.sosa@... Phone: Fax: Cell: Amy, I am not sure what ARC is, could you explain it to me, please? Also, the school is refusing to recognize the PDD-NOS diagnosis. His teachers are great and they pull the teacher from the Autistic room into to help them some, but the coordinator for our ARD said that she can not accept the diagnosis. The OT is also not going to help us. She (OT) had said that his eval went great, but then I explained to her that he has memorized the eval procedure and even before they tell him what to do, he has already done it!
