Guest guest
About a year and half ago, I made 2 trips to Rio, about a month apart, to have Dr. Marcio Serra's PMMA injections to restore the sunken look of HIV lipatrophy in my face. I really liked Dr. Serra and at the time was pretty excited by the results he achieved with me, not to mention that the treatment was extremely inexpensive and fast. I specifically asked about the possibility of nodules forming as a result of the PMMA and he said none of his patients in five years had ever had them. About six months after the treatment, I noticed 2 nodules in my face, both visible. They are not huge or disforming, but visible. Recently, I decided I needed some touch-up work done, but because of the 2 nodules I could see, decided to opt for some Sculptra treatments rather than more PMMA. In the doctor's office while prepping for the Sculptra, we discovered 6 more nodules within my left cheek and 2 on the right. My doctor concurred that they were PMMA caused and I have been a bit bothered by this, especially since Dr. Serra assured me this wouldn't happen. Has anyone else had PMMA related nodules? Or, for those of you who've had the PMMA injections, is the PMMA smooth under your skin? I'm also curious what results people have had one year later with PMMA injections to the butt and legs? Are there nodules there as well? .
