Guest guest
Sherry ~ Wish I had some advice for you, but don't have any. We're just hitting puberty and luckily Dylan is a boy so I'm hoping those issues are easier than the girl issues. We shall see. Good luck & hang in there. Becky gldcst wrote: Hi everyone, welcome to the new folks. You'll love it here. I need some advice from you behavior and drug experts. I think. I've been online all day with other groups where there are more girls with PMS issues and have had many wonderful responses and so much help I can't believe it. We started on the Seasonale BC pill 17 days ago and we're stopping it tonight. Can't get the doctor to respond to my emergency call. Anyway she just started having all the same symptoms we were attempting to control with the pill only worse. I know they want us to wait it out as the pill doesn't work for a few months but I can't continue it. She had some sort of weird shivering and shaking spell yesterday. She is yelling and crying, beating herself and us, totally out of control. The biggest problem (?) is that she is scratching and ripping at her tiny little boobs trying to pull them off, Obviously they are hurting even worse now than before the stupid pill. Her nipples are bleeding, our arms are bleeding. It's just hell over here. Her period would have come due in a day or two anyway so I am skipping the pill tonight and letting her have a period. I have a feeling it's going to get worse before it gets better. The only thing she can take because of her GI problems is Tylenol and it does seem to be easing the pain somewhat if I am sure to give it every 4 hours. Last night I was at a loss and I gave her Tylenol with codeine cough syrup so she'd sleep. I'll probably be doing that again tonight. We've added magnesium, vit E and have a counterful of PMS treatments ready to go....Progest cream, Evening primrose Oil, fish oils, vitex (an herbal remedy) all of which I hope to be able to try in the upcoming cycles. But for the immediate problem is there anything I can do to stop this behavior of ripping up her nipples?? She will NOT wear a bra of any sort, nor compresses, I've massaged her (don't call social services) but the bloodiness is really bad tonight. She has such OCD issues and is so violent now I just can't control her. It makes me think of years ago when Donna talked about maddie trying to poke her eyes out (That was true right; I didn't dream that?) I've gotta choose one doctor to call and beg for help tomorrow and I'm not sure what we need. Do you think she needs something temporarily like Risperdal? We are at the end of our rope and I can't just sit there and hold her hands all the time. I'm thinking handcuffs behind her back would be good but she'd just slam her head. kidding (sort of). Something has to be done immediately or we're going to end up in the ER. I'd appreciate any advice or suggestions on the behavior aspect of this from anyone....please. I'm always begging for help aren't I?. Sorry. She's just so little and she's hurting so badly I'm ready to consider all sorts of options. At least I finally did the dang BC pill trial the docs have been after me to try for years and that's enough of that. I'd be scared to death to try a depo shot that you can't even stop! Guest guest
Hi Sherry, I am so sorry. Would sit in a jacuzzi? I actually remember having very sore breasts when I was a teen too. Poor can't possibly understand what's going on. I would certainly try to video tape her so the dr would understand what the hell is happening to this poor kid. I don' t think a dr could begin to understand her behaviors without seeing it for themselves. Maybe a diet with benedryl for the next week, just kidding. Will she wear a tight shirt? I wish I lived closer to help you. Charlyne Mom to Zeb 14 DS/OCD/ASD? gldcst wrote: Hi everyone, welcome to the new folks. You'll love it here. I need some advice from you behavior and drug experts. Guest guest
Hi I am new to the forum but I will introduce myself later, I don't know if I can help but I make the following suggestions Firstly please stay clear of depo, current literature or research is showing that it has some terrible long term side effects such as osteoporosis. The next is forget about Risperidal as this drug can ad to your nightmare especially when it is associated with hormone in-balance which I am thinking is part of the problem. Finally what is the behaviour communicating, and you have probably heard this all before but I am thinking that you have hit the nail on the head, pain, discomfort, frustration, anger, this is of the top of my head. So what can you do, address the pain issue, Tylenol is one way but there is also a drug called Duatrol SR or Panadol Osteo which is a slow release Paracetamol 665mg which last for a period of 8 hours but can be repeated every 6 hours. It is an excellent pain relief has little effect on the gut de to the special coating that is on the tablet. Also for your daughter's breast you have a couple of other options and this may sound crazy but here goes, cold cabbage leaf placed over the breast can help to relieve her pain as it does for women with mastitis also a warm not to hot bath with a large handful of Bi Carb Soda will not only relieve any itch in the skin but also cool down the skin. The only other thing I can suggest is small icepacks or wheat paks which have been kept in the freezer, as often the discomfort is not only caused by hormone inbalance but the in-balance causes the breasts to become hot which increases the pain. I Hope this helps, I have used these strategies with many of my clients as I am what they call a Senior Practitioner who specializes in behavior intervention, and autism. I am also the carer for my younger brother who has DS as well as both of my elderly parents both have dementia. I live in Australia. Cheers Help for please Hi everyone, welcome to the new folks. Guest guest
how awful for her and you, many hugs!!! I think I would take her to the ER and get her sedated for her safety as much as your own. I think i would get at least a few days worth of sedatives until the worse of it is over or something. many prayers. shawna
