Guest guest
, He may know what you want but can't figure out how to make it happen " on command " . Can you give him LOTS of fluids and help him tune into the feeling when he starts going in the shower? Another thought is to get a commode and put it in the shower and have him sit on it while pottying. Karyn
Guest guest
Thanks everyone, He only stands now, sitting seemed very stressful for him. He seems to have pretty intense tactile issues with hot and cold, and we think the seat was too cold. Handwashing is only refused when he's dry before he goes in the bathroom-I think he realizes he's done in the BR when he washes his hands, and I think he gets upset because he wants to go. He has liquid and foam soap, and he usually likes to play in the foam, so that's not so much an issue as the toileting itself is. He does do the bathroom before and after his shower/bath, and it dosen't seem to help much. The Elmo DVD might be perfect for him, he used to love Elmo's world. We've done lots of fluids, but not the chair in the shower... I'm not sure if his parents would be up for that. I'll see if they'll be up for that...maybe we can convince them! THANK YOU ALL! I really appreciate the suggestions! Jess
