Guest guest
Dear Friends, Ben's beloved Nonni died peacefully tonight. She was 92. She was a loving mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother. " Pete " was her only grandchild and they loved each other. He hadn't been seeing her as much in recent months as she became more frail, but he has loads of photos of her and talks about her frequently. We will use religious terminology that we think he will understand to tell him about her death. We are not sure yet how much he will participate in the next week's events, but thank goodness we have people whom we trust who will be able to keep him busy and safe. Nonni spent 10 months under hospice care at the nursing home where she lived for the last 5 years. She lived with us for 3 years before that. She had many close calls the last few months, but kept rallying. In the end, she just slipped away on her own terms. But we are glad she is finally at rest. I had worried for so long about all the logistics of what her final days and hours would be like, and here, she just slipped away, thank God! Keep us in your prayers, please, as we negotiate the next several days. Pete has been doing very well overall, thank goodness, and we have had reliable help in place for him. Hope you all have UNEVENTFUL New Years. Blessings to all, and thank you for all the support you give me and one another. Love, Beth Mum to Pete (aka Ben) age 16 central Ohio
