Interesting things to think about. Landon flying anywhere won't ever

be an issue though, and we'll never travel out of the country with

him. Landon has pulmonary hypertension, and has been nixed for flying.

Plus, I doubt I'd ever even entertain the thought of the fight of

trying to get him into an airplane. I would still probably obtain an

ID for him, he'll be 16 in August, but I doubt we'd ever really need

to use it for much.

Thanks for the info about the Selective services though.

Ohhh.. there's a strong possibility of me flying down to Florida later on in

the year, and then to Las Vegas as well, in November. My daughter is 11

now, so can I go to the Drivers License center and get an ID card for her

now or would they turn me away?

We're in PA.

Okay... dumb question.. but here goes... So someone can't fly if they have

pulmonary hypertension? Why not? Is it a cabin pressure thing? I'll have to

ask Jordan's cardiologist about that one.

I thought we had to wait until Elie was 16 (drivers Ed age) but why not call

and check. With ID with a pix necessary to travel, sounds like a great idea

to me.

I just ran a quick check on pa DMV website: Photo ID's are issued to

persons 16 yrs and older. Persons under 18 yrs must have parental

signature.

For those persons 16 and older I would suggest doing it as it is

useful when your child needs some ID. My oldest son (DS) has

his PA ID but not (DS,PDD) and we almost had a problem when we

had OVR test him for Jobs he could do and Good Shepard Work Shop

asked if we could bring a photo ID for him. Lucky for us we still

had his school ID badge.
