Guest guest
Hi, Everyone....Welcome and Pam to the group. ...would it help to make a school bus sign and put a slash through it and then afix it to the Sat and Sunday spot. That way, it will show him that there is no bus on those two days. Just an idea. Pam...welcome from England. We have quite a few from England in this group. As for communication....nah sounds like my son....a few words to get his point across and not much more. He doesn't sign so much any more since he learned to spell. If we don't understand him, he will try to spell the word out. My son is Gareth....18 y/o with the DS/Autism/OCD labels. He's looking forward to 'college' next fall............don't ever give up on your kids. FWIW....Gareth was also VERY quiet this Christmas.....opting to be alone and laying down in guests bedrooms, etc. Like others, if this is what makes him comfortable and happy, then we allow it so the rest of us can talk and celebrate. It is disheartening that our children don't enjoy the holidays 'our way' but I do know that Gareth loves Christmas.....in his own way, that's all. Take care, Everyone.
