Guest guest
Hi to all, I don't post much, but I knew that this audience would appreciate my exciting news. I am now the night shift Lactation Consultant at a near by hospital with part time hours. The hope of the hospital is to have all moms see some sort of lactation support during their stay. Last week I shadowed the day shift lactation support and last night was my first solo shift. Most of my experience comes from LLL. I was welcomed with open arms, with having NO hospital experience. I am learning so much and loving that fact that I am getting this experience at a small hospital that is very community oriented and very friendly. I met a wonderful staff last night, new moms, and RECEIVED 2 phone calls. Left early because it was so quiet. What is nice about this is that I can continue to do my private practice which is very slow right now (thank goodness) but has lots of potential for growth. Guest guest
amazing! I wish more hospitals would employ IBCLC's who aren't nurses. We could actually make a real living! Guest guest
Congrats-that's terrific. I didn't know hospitals had night shift lactation educators now but it is needed so badly!
