You made it! Welcome! It's Jayne, I met you in X-ray at Portsmouth Naval...

Have you moved to Idaho yet? I'm so glad to see you on the list. You will

find so much comfort from the wonderful people on this list. 99.9% of the time

someone has been there, done, that, and has some helpful advice to get you

through the moment.

We made our move to Maine and am happy to report is doing fantastic.

He's finally getting some ABA at school and has a wonderful aide full of

knowledge, love, and a strong desire to keep the lines of communication between

home and school - open! I'm so glad we made the move. is in a class

with all autistic children, only 5 boys, with 5 aides and an incredible teacher.

My own guilt is what's killing me this Holiday Break. All wants to do

is watch movie after movie after movie after movie. I have to get over the

guilt and realize that this is what makes him happy. He doesn't just sit and

watch a movie and veg. He's very interactive, acts out scenes, leaves and

comes back, repeats the lines he knows, he's actually learned a lot from his

millions of hours in front of the tube! LOL!

Anyway - just a quick welcome, glad to see you here. Welcome!

I have an entire house to clean. I was blessed with a stomach bug after I

went to bed on Christmas night and did not get out of bed until yesterday

afternoon. Can you imagine what my house looks like?

Thank goodness made it back from deployment on Friday and is here til

Tuesday!

Happy New Year all -

Jayne

I too am new to the group and this post sounds just like me, oh how

relieving to know that i am not alone.! My son is a 4 year old that

has DS, also diagnosed with Autism & Dyspraxia. We are having a very

difficult time with the down time after school and weekends, he just

cries (yells) and can't seem to function at all besides being

destructive.
