Guest guest
Liz ~ Happy to hear it went pretty well for Tori ( & you for that matter!) Becky Liz D wrote: Here we are...a very exhausted Mommy and a tired, sticky haired little girl. Tori had her sleep study last night and all went much better than we anticipated. We went into the hospital at 7:30 and gave her her Melatonin. She was fast asleep by 8 and at 9 the tech came in to start hooking her up. It took about 2 hours to get all the leads (26 of them) on her (she kept stirring and talking). I was able to lay down with her and had to try to keep her from ripping the leads off (especially her face/head) and oh, yeah.. the oxygen sensor on her toe-she HATES that thing. Anyway, she woke up several times and was almost wide awake at 3 a.m. They need atleast a 6 hour read to get what they need and it had only been 3.5 hours. So we had some more melatonin. Thank God for Melatonin! She slept real well after that and they got a great reading. The leads were removed at 6:30 a.m. Well, then Mom and Tori fell fast asleep again until they paged us that the Dr. was ready to see us! Well, needless to say, she definitely has Sleep Apnea and he feels it most likely are her tonsils/adenoids causing the problem. Her saturation rate dropped several times as well. Anyway, he will be sending the report out to her Drs. and we will take it from there. Hopefully, once these are removed, she will sleep more peacefully (Mommy, too!) and her behaviors will improve! Anyway, I am now trying to convince her that after she takes a bath to get rid of the stickies in her hair, we could lay down in Mommy's bed and take a nap! Yeah, right!!! =) Liz " Success manifests in small daily events, not only in accomplishing great things " - Remez Sasson
Guest guest
just remember Liz - after the surgery, Tori may need to relearn how to sleep thru the nite. It took us about a month after Elie's surgery for him to learn to sleep lying down and able to stay asleep. Wish melatonin worked for him :~( Sara - Choose to make lemonade, not complain about the lemons. > >Reply-To: >To: >< >,<downsyndrome >, " DS_Families " ><downsyndrome_families > >Subject: Fw: Tori's Sleep Study >Date: Wed, 27 Dec 2006 16:11:39 -0500 > >Here we are...a very exhausted Mommy and a tired, sticky haired little >girl. > >Tori had her sleep study last night and all went much better than we >anticipated. Guest guest
Liz happy to hear that the sleep study is finished and they were able to get a good study. Hope the T & A will be the answer to the sleep problem and behavior improves. Louise Fw: Tori's Sleep Study Here we are...a very exhausted Mommy and a tired, sticky haired little girl.
