Guest guest
I have been asked to purchase a couple special needs books for our resource room. My son (ds & pdd) will be starting Kindergarten next fall. We have a small school, 285 students in K-8. With about 12 percent on IEP's. Any other suggestions would be helpful. Looking for books that focus heavily on visual/hands on learning strategies. PS: our pto purchased boardmaker 2 years ago and I already have the ok to purchase an add-on program that might help the teachers with some ideas. Do you have any mayer-johnson add ons for boardmaker that you would recommend for pre primary and primary students. Though I lurk mostly, I do appreciate each of you for all the information that you share here. I can completely relate to what most of you write. We had a very interesting Christmas this year as everyone came to our house. My son was suppose to have surgery to remove a cyst from his knee on Dec 20th, but he ended up with an URI and surgery was cancelled the day prior. Long story short; I NEED A BREAK FROM THE CHAOS !! we are still on a waiting list for DD services which will include respite care (could be 2 more years is what my son's case manager wrote in a recent letter to the state). We have been on the list for over 18 months to date. sorry, I got a little off track. Happy Holidays to all, and here is to a happier, healthier new year to all. Guest guest
I would suggest Writing with symbols, 2000 also from Mayer . It is also a multilingual program so can be used for ESL as well as kids with IEp's.
