My primary PE and SRRI experience

Hello all. I am new to the group and wanted to give my story and

would appreciate your thoughts. I am coming from the other side of

the coin. I was prescribed SSRI's to try to change my lifelong

premature ejaculation. Before I finally went to my doctor, I tried

edging for about 2 months, Stop/Start always, thinking of everything

but the woman I was with, double condoms, lidocain cream in the

condom, and every supplement that was mentioned to help with PE.

Since none of these worked in the least, the Dr. prescribed Prozac

20mg which I took for 2 months. When I went back to the Doc I

informed him that it did not slow me down for even 1 sec, so he upped

the dose to 40mg. After about a month and a half I told him that I

had a bad case of IBS and I was just as fast as ever. I switched MD's

and she put me on Paxil 20mg which took care of the IBS immediately

but failed to change my ejaculator times. She them moved me to 40mg

Paxil and I really started acting strangely. I felt entriely either

paniced or depressed. I started tapering off before I had my

followup. She agreed that I should stop Paxil as " not a good med at

all for you " and then did some blood work and tried to wean me off

Paxil in 8 days. It was horrendous. I was then put on Tramadol due to

some reading that it helped with PE (and she had some samples). This

did not work. I am currently on an older tri-cyclic Clomipramine

(Anafaril) but only at 25mg...so far no change.

When she did blood work, I asked for Total Testosterone (I had not

read up on the other tests that I should have also asked for. My

Total T came back 245 (with the labs range of 241 - 840). Low by

everyone's standards but even then my Insurance declined the script

because I was 4 points over the minimum (and at 45, could swap

testicles for a 90 year old and keep on chugging apparently).

I am 5'8 and weight 165 and in somewhat reasonable health. I do not

smoke and I do not use any illegal drugs or drink to excess.

Can I ask for input on where to go next, or what to try? No chemical

so far has even slowed me down for 10 seconds but they certainly have

made my life a much more difficult place to be.

Anything you can throw my way would be greatly appreciated.

Stu
