Be afraid - be very afraid of not making a plan that does not include you.

Not to be lacking in understanding BUT - what are the odds that you will

live longer than Landon? I am looking and trying to make plans for my son

because since he is 21.5 yo and my husband and I are both in our mid 60's

(he more mid than I), the odds according to acuarial tables are that he will

outlive us. I want to be as sure as I can be that Elie is safe and happy

before there is a crisis that I cannot control, so that he will never be

someones emergency placement.

My husband and I served for 6 years as the emergency home for people with a

dx of MR when there was an emergency. The bewildered sad, frightened people

that we cared for while more permanent arrangements were made were each the

result of no planning or poor planning on the part of their parents. The 21

y0o boy who came to us on New YEar's Day because his mom dropped dead - he

was with us 6 months until arrangements could be made - his mother never

trusted anyone else to care for her son.

Sara - Choose to make lemonade, not complain about the lemons.
