liz - I know how hard it is to pull back on the inclusion is my child's

right motto. I listened to Kathy Snow expound on this many a day. But I

think, ego aside, we all have to recognize that what we want most is for our

children to live, learn, and love in a safe feeling environment - where THEY

feel safe.

This is another dream I had to let go for Elie's sake. It took me until he

was 10yo to realize a change would need to be made. Then it took me

another 2 years to find the right kind of environment where he was safe

enough to learn without the whole day being a behavior battle.

I commend you for waging this battle in the best interests of your child and

not based on what " other people " think is best.

Ditto.

When Maddie was born, having her fully included was my dream. I wanted her

to go to school WITH her siblings. As it became apparent to me that it

wasn't the right thing for her, I had to come to the realization that inclusion

was MY dream, not hers. Maybe some day, but for now, no.

You will do what's best for Tori. Remember, nothing is in stone. Sure,

it would be hard to put the inclusion thing back on the burner once you take

it off, but hey, we're all used to a good fight!!
