Sent: Saturday, December 9, 2006 7:40:38 PM Subject: Fwd: Extra Ed. Funding from " Gov. " Spitzer Hello everyone! As many of you know, things are moving fast in Albany -- and education funding is on the front burner! Spitzer's transition team is telling us that the governor-elect still supports $4 billion in new education funding for New York City and $2.5 billion for the rest of the state. We are also hearing that Spitzer supports the Board of Regents' statement on early childhood education, which calls for new investment in pre-k and other early childhood services. We need to make sure he keeps his promises! Download the attached letter and send it in -- you will be part of a statewide campaign led by the Alliance for Quality Education. Then go to the Winning Beginning website, www.winningbeginningny.org to send your ideas directly to the Spitzer transition team . . We'll keep you posted as we learn more. In the meantime, make your voice heard!
