Guest guest
SSI also wanted to know Elie's MEdicade waiver - he was getting $22,000 (approx) in PA, but it didn't change the amount of SSI that he received. Be sure to decide how much rent she is paying. They may want you to take mortgage, electric, water, etc and divide by the number of people in your house. HOWEVER< if that is more than 72% of her money, she will be penalized!! I know it is crazy, but calculate those sums and if it is more than 72% of what she will get (about $600/month) than charge her a flat fee. ' I am glad that they are not insisiting on an IQ test - it is their discretion. She most definitely does NOT need an IQ test; if they decide she does at some point THEY will arrange and pay for it. (I just cancelled gleefully our appt. for an IQ test tomorrow....YAY). I have tons of medical papers and release forms to send in or drop off and we begin the real process on Jan 8, the day after her birthday with an hours long phone call/Or if we decide dh can go in and do it there at the office. Apparently they are going to take her medwaiver money into account, another thing I was misinformed about. Fortunately they are also going to take our rent, electric bill and food bills into account which are outrageous. And I now have a real person and her phone number who I can call and get the actual facts (as she sees them) from instead of waiting on that dang 800 number for hours. I'm happy!
