MT Barry Corbet's nursing home story

This is the link to Barry Corbet's " Embedded, " the " undercover " nursing

home story he was working on when he put it aside to die. Last year, his

children asked me to prepare it for publication and send it out. It

appears in the current issue of AARP Magazine, the largest circulation

magazine in the US. It is characteristically sharp, funny, and thought

provoking, though far less polished than he would have made it. I wrote

the note at the end.

Some of you may want to write AARP to suggest better links to accompany the

web edition ( " how to pick a nursing home " ?!!?), but I'm thrilled to have

Barry's voice of experience in the mainstream mix. I hope it will be one

of many to break through the wall of denial that still keeps people from

thinking about the issues.
