Guest guest
Fascinating article. Our story... My son is HF Aspergers/Autism - doesn't really fit either perfectly. Does well in school, but has always had significant problems with reading comprehension. He could read a book, but would fail the test. After starting leucovorin for autoantibodies to folate, his binocular vision problems resolved, but he still had problems with reading comprehension. After much immune testing which found abnormalities (he was sick all the time), but not off enough to qualify for IVIG or subcutaneous IG, I started him on oral IG. Within months, he was reading grade level books (7th) and PASSING tests in the 90-100 range!! I asked him what was different, and he said that before it was just words on a page, and now, he sees pictures when he reads! He passed his end of the year language arts test with a 95! His organizational skills are also much improved and he has fewer colds. I think the combo of leucovorin and IG support has made a difference. > > > > Subject: Breaking News: IVIG Stops Alzheimer's in Its Tracks > To: maurine_meleck@... > Date: Tuesday, July 17, 2012, 1:08 PM > > > > > > > > > > Tuesday July 17, 2012 > > > > > > > IVIG Stops Alzheimer’s in Its Tracks > VANCOUVER -- Three years of treatment with intravenous immunoglobulin prevented further cognitive decline in patients with Alzheimer’s disease, according to a small study presented here at the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference. > http://www.medpagetoday.com/MeetingCoverage/AAIC/33780?utm_source=breaking-news & \ utm_medium=email & utm_campaign=breaking-news > > > You have received this email because you have registered to receive alert emails at > www.medpagetoday.com, with the email address: maurine_meleck@... > > Change ALL email settings > > Instant Unsubscribe from " Breaking News Alerts " > > TECHNICAL QUESTIONS: > webmaster@... > > MedPage Today, LLC. - Overlook at Great Notch - 150 Clove Road - Little Falls, New Jersey 07424 - Tel: - Fax: >
