Guest guest
this is part of a response a friend got from a lactation group - they only do skype consults - they promote them as being BETTER than in person: "We do not do in-person consultations for 2 reasons. Firstly, commutetime just makes it too costly and secondly, any breastfeeding problemsneed to be corrected by the mommy and if the consultant is touchingthe baby and getting the baby in different positions we have foundthat the moms can't remember what they were told or how to do itthemselves once we have left. We have a hands-off approach to trulyteach the mommy what will work for them and their little one.Our lactation consultants are all IBCLC's (Internationally BoardCertified) and have years of experience. They will be able to tell ifthe baby has frenulum issues and can definitely help her with hercracked and sore nipples." i assume this person is not on this list - if they are, i'd truly like to have a discussion about this approach. if they aren't - i'd truly like to have a discussion about this approach. warmly, lyla
