Guest guest
Hi, Went to see Paed GI yesterday and I'm wondering if anyone's child has ever had GI polyps? It's one possibility (and the most frightening one, frankly) that is causing 's bleeding. The three potential problems are polyps, haemroid (sp?), or inflamed bowel. We are doing an overnight admission with clearout and having full colonoscopy and endoscopy as well. We have colon cancer in the family and the worst case scenario is finding more than 1 polyp which presents a risk for cancer. I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with this? How frequent are subsequent checks? I'm hoping it's just haemroids from the straining but I want to be mentally prepared for all the possibilities. We are a ways off from the scopes (about 6 weeks) so no hurry. Also, anyone had an overnight admission to Chelsea and Westminster? We've had a couple of stints on the paed ward (once a full week) but always with infectious illness so had our own room (yay), just wondering on these pre-op admissions, are you given a private room? Thanks, Darla
