Hi Sharon I have never heard of that,, is it prescription? I have severe muscle and joint aches,, SHARON CROSBY wrote: I take Magnesium Malate for muscle aches. It helps some. A laugh a day keeps the blues away. Sharon RE: Pain Management and Hepatitis C Infection , Here you go Sally I take Neurontin too, 600 x 3. My neuropathy is pretty difficult to manage. Without the Neurontin, without the alpha-lipoic acid, without the evening primrose oil I wake up with shooting pains that cause me to cry out. I don't think its great for the liver, but the alternatives appear to be worse. There's a newer one out, Lyrica,

which I haven't heard a great deal about, but looks somewhat promising. The only person I know taking it right now is a man with diabetes doing chemotherapy for prostate cancer. He doesn't have hep, but they also don't want to stress his liver either. I need to do more research on this one. My Endochrinologist didn't have a clue, hadn't heard of it at all. Do you have info if it is okay for me to be taking Neurontin (gabapentin) which started at 150mg x 3 per day, then 300 mg x 3; now worked up to 450mg x 4 per day. Really don't want to make a bigger mess of this body! Thanks.Kathyelizabethnv1 wrote: Pain Management and

Jackie,

Do ask your doc. Just get all the electrolytes tested. Mag is actually one

of them, sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium. Maybe even a little zinc.

Anyway I had that pain and even the rls so bad that I couldn't drive,

couldn't sit, couldn't stand, couldn't lay down, and the damn doc had me

driving 30 min to a lab for tests that was closed. I was SO mad. That doc

got fired <couldn't find his... with both hands anyway> and the new doc got

it figured out right away. Second visit, she looked, no, potassium is fine,

try magnesium. She's a doll! I'm keepin her. :) She even figured out my B-12

deficiency and I'm getting shots now.

No, not a prescription. I buy it at the health store, about 10 dollars a bottle.
