Guest guest
The IRON LUNG Consigned to HISTORY The Iron Lung was thought to be an indespensible aid for treating polio a generation ago. It was never used for that but it was used to treat people who were unable to breathe by themselves. Polio may have been the name given to the illness that manifested as an inability to breathe independently but just as quickly as it took the blame it was relieved of blame when the polio vaccine was introduced. Today despite the emotion invoked by this machine, the demand for ventilation has probably gone up and not down. Today no one in the west uses the term polio for this often fatal inability to breathe independently. Today it goes under a multitude of names depending on its severity amongst other things. Asthma for example strikes down one person in ten so is hardly rare but never called polio. Going on to Motot Neuron Disease we have more serious conditions that may in the past have been called polio. Polio is for most an illness that passes without incident and often without people even knowing they have the virus. It is arguably been used to cover up harm from toxic chemicals, toxic metals and topically fall out after deliberate or accidental contamination by ionising radiation. If this is the case then maybe in as little as two years we may see an increase of what in yester year was called polio rather than fall out from atom bomb tests in the atmosphere. In less than 25 years the miracle cure of the Iron Lung became the most efficient medical method of killing children until the advent of teratogenic mercury containing additions to a final safe vaccine product invoking up to date possibly a million dead children consigned not die from polio but SIDS. 1928 saw the invention of this great machine which saved human life by aiding their breathing. It saved one person in ten. Imagine saving one person in ten with fatal cancer for example and you will see the importance of this machine. In 1952 more modern and efficient ventilators enabled 7 out of 8 lives to be saved and gave the additional advantage of not being incarcerated for 16 hours in this infernal machine. But the obvious and practical result was that now instead of saving life it was actually taking the life of more than half of those who used it. For this reason alone the Iron Lung will never make a comeback even if the increasing nuclear pollution leads to excess cases of MND etc. So why do people continue to invoke the return of such machines proven to be killer machines for nearly 60 years. 1 Ignorance? 2 Stupidity? 3 The human desire to argue just for the sake of argument? Whatever the use of publicity pictures after 1952 to invoke the need to get vaccinated for a disease that more than likely did not cause most or any of the conditions where it was needed was a prescription for the worlds worst medical care in any event. The invention and obsolence of this device in less than 25 years shows the speed of modern discovery and sadly the inevitabilty that what was once thought a miracle so quickly is shown to be no longer the saviour we once thought it was. The locked in attitude even by the CDC to the value of this machine and the need to preserve the memory of it may in the near future be shown by the unsafe and overuse of vaccines. Nobody can deny the value of many vaccines and their proper use. But no vaccines for ancient ills like leprosy or modern ills like AIDS indicate it is not the universal cure once thought. With 250 000 side effects from vaccines just as the Iron Lung is now history we need to reconsider the use for example of teratogenic mercury and teratogenic rubella vaccine virus in todays panoply of vaccines. While smallpox vaccines have been consigned to history and the importance of diphtheria vaccines are obvious, the use of mercury vaccines for illnesses not possible for the one day infant must be recognised for what it was and always will be SBS, MSBP or plain murder by the medical profession going punished by incarcerating the like of Sally who lost her sons vaccinated on the recommended schedule with teratogens and in one case within 6 hours of a thimerosal vaccine. But whatever happens with the unsettled cases and causes of some illnesses the Iron Lung is now HISTORY.
