alisha here,

since i live outside of the US, i am in canada, ontario to be exact. i

have OHIP which is Ontario Health Insurance Program. everyone in

ontario has this. my family has no other private insurance besides

this. personality i think its stupid of my parents but since we r a

middle-class family money is stretched tight enough. my dad is

diabetic and doesn't use insulin but he uses met form (pills) they r

expensive. plus when i am taking meds they get expensive but not as

bad as his. we have LONG waiting lists in ontario and every where else

in canada for specialists and treatments ie. cancer

i am used to it all but i don't like it at all. i live in london,

ontario. our city is big on healthcare, we have 5 or 6 hospitals

andour pop is just over 333,000. we also have a univeristy here. i get

treatment at the local childrens hospital (since i am under 18) and at

the university hospital. once i turn 18 i then go to any on the 2

hospitals downtown for services. he do a lot of research here and its

great to live in a city that is doing great work in healthcare. but

insurance is a problem so we make due and get by as best that we can.

gini here. (i am typing for husband layne).

We too live in Ontario, but we live in Northern Ontario. (Thunder Bay to be

exact). The govt has chosen not allocate any health care funds to us

here in Northern Ontario. We have a doctor shortage in our city. Over

10,000 people are without a family physician. They must rely on ER services

or " certain " walk-in clinics to see a doctor. Waiting lists are absurd.

Layne has been on a waiting list to see a neurologist since May of last

year. Since we do not have a resident neurologist, we rely on one that

comes to our city once a month. His CMT has caused him to go off sick from

his work. He works in a malt-making plant that requires physical work. His

hands and arms are not strong enough to do the work anymore. (Anyone

working with high-pressure hoses will understand). His short term

disability has turned him down. They claim he is not disable enough to not

do his job. (3 different specialists have told him to look for other work).

Has anyone run into this type of roadblock?

Ok I thought I would play around and see how this poll thing works

and unfortunately it seem to only let you ask one question at a time

so I asked a basic simple question to see how it works, I encourage

everyone to answer it and then we can play around with it more and

ask more interesting questions. Even if your not a poster please

answer this poll so we can just see what numbers we come up with.

Thanks,

Also for those of you who don't like to post it will not reveal any

info about you, just click on vote and click on an answer and then we

can total up the numbers later.

Thanks for helping.

Well, as of today, no one has come forth claiming responsibility. It could

be that a poll can be created by anyone; however it would be nice if they

would check with the moderator before either making a new file or taking any

polls. (Just for everyone's enlightenment, the subject of the poll- " gas " -

IS a common problem when starting CR. Beano is a popular " antidote " ).
